Getting Around Kraków

Kraków is a very easy city to navigate, with excellent public transport links including buses, trams and taxis. The city centre is particularly easy to navigate by foot, because many of the main attractions are within easy walking distance of each other.

Free Bus

During the Conference we will be offering free bus transportation from Kraków City Centre to the Villa Decius (Conference venue) each day. The journey is approximately 7km and takes about 15-20 minutes in total.

The main pick up point for the buses will be the car park on ul. Powiśle, close to the Sheraton Grand, Ibis Centrum and Novotel Centrum Hotels. Please click here to see the pick up location and more details.

Public Trams and Buses

Tickets are interchangeable for trams and buses, and are timed, allowing you to change between tram or bus lines within the allotted time. Tickets can be bought at machines by the tram stops, or on board the tram or bus. The ticket machines offer a variety of languages, so are relatively easy to purchase. The machines on board the tram/bus take card payment only. Most importantly, you must stamp your ticket immediately on boarding the tram or bus in the small machines on-board, even if you bought your ticket on-board.

Taxis

Taxis in Kraków are well priced and readily available. Calling ahead will get you a better fare, but if you hail one from the street make sure it is clearly marked with a company name and phone number displayed, as well as a sticker demarcating prices in the window.

Uber is a readily available alternative to the city taxi companies and come with the added security of knowing your fare in advance, and being able to track your journey via the app. A standard journey from the city centre to the Villa Decius costs about 14 Zloty.
